Under funding over many years by Tory governments have made this inevitable. It won’t be an easy transition but a logical one longer term. Quote
gonzo Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 Why would a Czech billionaire want to buy Royal Mail? Quote

As an entity, the Post Office is a pretty outdated concept, so unless he's got some radical ideas, or he's going to start increasing prices further still........then all I can think of is that he's interested in the real estate element of it, which must be worth absolutely billions I honestly can't remember the last time I bought a stamp or actually physically posted something, at the post office Quote

And why were they fined 10.5 mill because they "missed their targets?" I'd bet no one has fined the Romanian courier who delivered my new telly a day late (after I'd paid for next day) Quote

Govt owns the Post Office and has a golden share in Royal Mail Mrs Manc works in logistics and suggests that he wants to improve the parcels/logistics side of things in Royal Mail as that’s profitable to an extent Royal Mail have been in all her clients pitching for business so it seems reasonable. Yodel look like they may go under so there’s a chunk of the logistics market that could open up Quote

I find Royal Mail to be pretty good when I have used them, just buy online and drop at post office as PO is pricey if buying in shop. Quote
