The problem for these people though is deciding which way to spend their limited resources. Meter electricity isn’t cheap and putting the oven on eats the funds. 

Debt counselling was also offered as well and the guests had been referred by agencies.

The meter thing in itself needs sorting. The fact that the poorest people pay the most for fuel is abhorrent.

No idea on the answer. Maybe food banks could put together 'starter' packs of basic cooking ingredients and send those out. Although folks still need to know how to make use of them. 

My Brother in Law is in the food business and when the lockdown was imminent and the shelves started to empty of pasta and tinned tomatoes he remarked that  for many people, opening a jar of Dolmio and boiling some pasta was the limits of their cooking knowledge. Hence they all made the same choices when the shit was hitting the fan.

 Never have been able to stomach liver, whichever way it's been served. It'll have to be FarmFoods after all. 

Liver, onions, bacon tomato. Home made gravy, some mash and veg. Mmm. Skinters banquet.

Yep. I don't blame anyone for seeking pleasure where they can find it. I'd sooner live in a world where people are free to make poor decisions than the reverse.

Can we not just be honest about this. Obese people get everything they deserve the fat cunts. They're a drain on the NHS at the best of times.

There is no excuse these days for obesity, you can get fruit and veg far cheaper than any processed shite the supermarkets can sell. So put down the pizza, and eat some carrots you fat cunts

I'm not so sure. I'm sure there were equal amounts of greedy bastards in the 50's 60's 70's and 80's yet not so many fat twats. Research I've seen reckons it's down to availability. If you live next door to a kebab shop, you eat more kebabs. In my year at secondary school, mid 80s there was one proper fat lad, out of 150. In my 15 yr old lads school year it's about a 3rd of them. He's got a chinese mate who's getting on for 20 st.
