We did all this last December , not over it or ever will be to be honest

We've just had notification from one of our carriers, who deals with our stuff coming out of Xiamen (which is a massive port in China)  -  there is a huge outbreak over there at the minute, and it seems that shipping is going to be even more fucked for the foreseeable future.....

 

As a result, the following measures have been implemented by the Chinese Government: • All Xiamen City residents must be tested • Anyone looking to leave Xiamen must show a negative test • The entire Tongan district is locked down • All government offices are closed • Highway toll stations have been closed • Checkpoints have been set up on the highways • All companies in Xiamen must work shifts or work from home • Schools are closed and teaching has moved on-line

@deane koontz you are right pal it is an absolute cunt of a disease , felt better for a week or so me but now back on antibiotics for 10 more days , got the worst tonsilitis /swollen lymph nodes in my neck i've ever had , feel absolutely fucked all the time but can't get any proper sleep.

Sorry to hear this. I've never wrote on this topic, but had to when I saw your message.  I went through the same experience with my Mum in Feb when she caught covid in hospital after just being diagnosed with cancer and returning home for a week before starting chemo. I then caught it off her as we were caring for her as did Dad and then my wife had it off me. I wasn't able to be there at the end because of my isolation, then had the worry about my Dad, its been the most difficult time of my life.

I can only say I know exactly what you are going through, the coming days, weeks and months will be incredibly difficult. Be there for your Dad, and he will be there for you, get out for a walk, a coffee, the footie, speak to friends, family, folks on here and very slowly it will get better. There will be many wobbles along the way but then you have to quickly think of the good memories you have of her and they will help you through.

Perhaps coincidence, but the properties of this little Berry have been appreciated for some time.

I cooked it up with sugar and honey, and added some mulling type spices. Recipes on the Internet.

Put it into a jar, like jam and keep it in the fridge.

Teaspoon or two a day.

A lot cheaper than the commercial product.

Sorry to put this in here right now, and please don’t think me crass.

We lost our mum last April at the peak of the first lockdown, and there were 3 of us at her funeral. Bleakest day of my life by a distance.

We are having her ashes interred next month and a “proper” funeral as it’s the first chance we’ve had to get everyone together.

I will be forever grateful that I got to spend my mums last few days on earth by her side. It’s a shit shit shit situation and nowt prepares you. Nothing at all.

Had a cry earlier just reading this knowing what Gonzo’s going through.

just be there. You’ll cherish the fact you were.

Regardless of her condition, she’ll know you’re there and by Christ that’s a big help.
