What a night! Special moments were always on the cards this season!

Good job us fans don’t make the decisions. Collins wouldn’t have been left on to create the first, Vic wouldn’t have been on the pitch to put it away, Thomo would have been dragged off at HT and theres no way Jerome would have been brought on to win the pen.

Have a bit of faith boys. There’s more moments like that to come! @radcliffe white a swing in the favour of me getting the end of season pint! 😉

Loved the 2 nil up and you fucked it up chants to the Yorkshire twats 🤣

Feels like more than a point 👏

Just back & still buzzing from that finish.

We started off the better team without threatening much until we gave away a messy goal  after which we played too much aimless long ball stuff & went 2 down......but, we showed real character fighting back with a mixture of some long ball but also some lovely football.

Getting Sheehan & Thomason into the game was huge & most of the subs worked well, Iredale & Randell were good on the left, Jones was effective as RWB, Jerome did well & Maghoma was very lively.

Getting the equaliser in time added on for Barnsley's usual cheating was a pleasing kind of justice , as was Santos letting Cosgrove know that we've not forgotten him !!

"Two nil & you fucked it up ....EIEIEIO "

Got back at 1.30am, feel absolutely drained after that.
Superb battling last 40mins or so for a much deserved point.

Good to see quite a few WW boys out, whilst it appears to have been Drama Queen central on here.

Oh, and the M62 is a cunt.

Only Jerome could have WON that pen. Some folk can dive but Jerome managed a belly flop whilst carrying/dragging a defender onto his back with one arm. Made it look like he was being savagely bummed by a gorilla. Takes years of practice and experience to master that. Class.

I only hope we can start our remaining games the way we finished that one. As mentioned elsewhere, teams have sussed out Evatt’s plan A so starting with plan B might unsettle the buggers.

Well done Evatt and his staff for going long from the back and not trying to play out against their high press. He’s learned how to play against Barnsley. Handy if both teams are in the playoffs.

I have a brother-in-law who hates football, doesn’t get it, fuck me he’s missing out.

We didn’t go route one. We played through them a number of times such as Maghoma’s chance. The difference was that we started playing the progressive pass better and  linking up…and it was a joy to behold!

We continually played the cross field punt to Ogbeta and then Williams purely looking for territory and throw ins in the corner. And a number of long balls to the strikers to try to battle down. I won't include the long balls down the channel for Jones as they were more measured, the other 2 were hopeful.

Playing long isn't something to be ashamed of, in fact I love it when it's part of a varied game plan. It gave Barnsley something different to think about so then we could play our passing game through the lines as you say.

That last 30mins is how we should be playing against the better team, very fast tempo and mixing it up between long ball and passing through the lines. Never the slow passing along the backline, that's only effective against the dross of this division

Ha, excellent description of Jerome. He really did use his experience to make sure that was given. Definitely a pen, but you have to make the ref know.

On the pen, I was surprised Randall gave it up tbh. He grabbed the ball immediately and looked confident. Guess he'll be third in line after Dion and Morley now

I’m in a less hopeful mood.
We showed a battling spirit last night, but the cold truth is we can’t score against a busy defence. Almost looks like we slow up looking for a perfect ball into the box.

20 shots to 8 is the truth behind our failings.

Felt like a big positive with the efforts of the second half, but will that be enough against Derby, Portsmouth and Peterborough?

Collins has played cracking balls in behind defenders. If we can get Charles fit and on the end of these, there's plenty of goals in us.

Excellent point in the grand scheme of things

For those that like stats

1st half - 0.09 xG (1.02 Barnsley)

2nd half - 4.56xG!!! (0.11 Barnsley)

Pretty much confirms what we all saw, we hammered them after their 2nd went in - I bet they haven’t had a team turn up and have half the chances that we did last night.

Gladly get them in mate🍺

I certainly don’t want us to fail just my opinion on Barnsley

If we play like the second half more consistently we go up simple however that’s our issue level of performances are so contrasting at times

like many have said this could be the turning point to finish this job off

see you at Exeter?

Unfortunately not mate, got a 50th on.

Enjoy and bring back those 3 points.

Most of the others after that, so catch up soon, you were missed yesterday.

Cold light of day: We've got to tighten up a bit at the back and take a greater proportion of the chances we create. There've been phases of this season when we've been better at both and hopefully we are now entering another one. If that's the case we are in with a genuine chance of championship football next year. Let's replicate that last 30 mins more often!

This next few weeks is going to be a proper rollercoaster. Buckle yourselves in.

Listen to the interview

Just heard that and to be fair to IE he didn't sound to pleased about playing it out from the back, when the instruction was to play it long over their back line were the space was.Maybe he has learned

I’m really not sure what to think of us.

I’ll know more this time next week.

Aye

1 win in 4

4 points from our games in hand

Should've been more but at least we've come out of them in second

We mustn't give it up now

We really ought to be, and should be, winning the next two and then look to get something at Derby

If we can do that, great, we should still be in an automatic spot

A brilliant point all things considered.

Thought we were the better team (despite not creating much clear cut in the 1st half) and completely dominated the last 30 minutes. Even scoring as late as we did I'm disappointed that we didn't win that. I honestly thought Barnsley were bang average.

The subs made a massive difference and Evatt showed we have the capability to mix it up which for me has been the most frustrating thing about us in his time here.

Up into 2nd with 10 left, and with Charles, Baxter and from the sounds of it even Johnston coming back in for the last month, we're in good nick.

Last night needs to be the springboard for the run in and hitting form at the right time.

Whilst that makes satisfying reading, the ongoing concern is the amount of guilt edge chances we are missing. Majority if not all of them last night should’ve been put away.

not many teams do well when they don’t convert and allow soft goals in the other end

Right, so actually it’s not about consistency or performance level, it’s about if the manager picks you or not.

Good managers pick on consistency, your post was your thoughts on players… the manager obviously has a different opinion than you…just like I’ve a different opinion on Maghoma than you have.

The first half was pretty turgid, but that second half was ace and poetic justice for all the Barnsley time wasting. The Barnsley keeper just went down on 85 mins after lashing yet another botched kick straight out for a throw in and stayed down for a good few minutes.  Lovely to see that equaliser smashed past him 10 minutes later!!

I think that whilst it's easy to say we were wasteful in front of goal last night, you've got to give Barnsley some credit for the way they kept us out for most of the game.

We'd be raving about the way they threw themselves in front of everything if we'd done it.

I agree tomo fucked up, that was my view

Just saying on listening he says the pass shouldnt have been made

Whether he means tomo shouldnt call it or coleman shouldnt play it

BN comments are pretty clear. The inside passes weren't to be played. Seems the instructions were not to- have a gander.
