Comes to summat when the highlight of the day was the pork barm from that wagon before the game. Top notch, but downhill from then on - to say the fucking least. They did look belting tbf. I just couldn't be arsed queuing up. This general malaise is even getting to us supporters! Quote

Should have have just fucked off after that to be honest. Classier and better value for money than owt on the pitch. Quote
wakey Posted January 11, 2025 Posted January 11, 2025 I thought the same about the substitutions, but if there was any doubt I reckon his post-match comments are a cry for help. It's become absolutely clear to me Sharon's holding him here against his will. All makes sense when you think about it. I reckon "moments" is his safe word but she keeps ignoring him. Quote

marple whites Posted January 11, 2025 Posted January 11, 2025 (edited) Where do I start ? 2 hours to get from Marple to Sheffield on normally a 50 min train. got off at dore to get an uber to Sheffield, then ok to the ground. frist 10 ok, should have gone 1 up (Johnston) then the next 60 was embarrassing from all 11 plus subs. Left at 3, back to Sheffield- took half an hour. then best hour of the day - killer in the Howard at Sheffield. train then again delayed, kicked off the train at new mills, another drink, then only half of us got back on as mix up with platforms, so 2 under 16s on, dad not, got home 10 hours after leaving for a local game. do the players or manager have any idea of the cost and time we put into these nob heads ? They haven’t got the first idea - and the cold shoulder from my missus is worse than the 2 hours watching that game. something has to give, fans falling out, players not arsed, manager blaming the players - and as for his post match interview…… anyway, back to the g and t Edited January 11, 2025 by marple whites Quote

Popular Post Lostock Whites Posted January 11, 2025 Popular Post Posted January 11, 2025 (edited) Would a new manager guarantee promotion? No. Would a new manager do as bad as we are doing right now? Unlikely. Emphasis on the word "new". This club could not be more desperate for a new approach right now. The clubs mentality has been smashed and not recovered ever since the Oxford play off defeat. A reset is essential. We are just wasting time, people's and the clubs money right now just going in circles. Evatt has been given the keys to the kingdom and beyond, back to the fullest, brought in a lot of new players that are arguably the best in the league. Yet they all have looked shadows of the former selves under him. Good managers get the best out of individuals and here we have reached a point where our manager is blaming our failures on the very individuals we signed and have coached, some for over 3/4 years. In summary, going back to what I said at the top. A new manager might not mean salvation, but good god it is what is needed. I have no doubt in my mind that somebody can get a tune out of these players. Let's not forget, we are in a truly horrid league, a league we can't get out of yes, but a league when where you do the basics and sprinkle a couple of talented players on top, you can see yourselves at the very least in the top 6. With the players we have at our disposal, the size of the club, 22,000 average attendances, the potential. There's a lot of managers out there that would jump at the chance. It might not need to be a '5 year plan', maybe just an experienced head to just get us out of this league. Sharon's personal relationship and loyalty is breaking the club apart and leaving us behind. The Championship we can worry about if/when we get there. But right now we are still in League 1 and this manager is not good enough to get us promoted out of this league. Alf Hartigan Posted January 11, 2025 Posted January 11, 2025 I’m a season ticket holder, always have been but given up with this guy. Didn’t even listen to it today. His post match interview is shocking. Get someone else in, but not Wayne Rooney 😀 Quote

He's ultimately to blame. But we all know our players could be doing better than they are. Bunch of overpaid shithouses. LodgeMorrWhite Posted January 12, 2025 Posted January 12, 2025 Rotherham will not have an easier game of football this year. We were second best all day, it was nothing football, utterly pointless Quote

We were second best all day, it was nothing football, utterly pointless “Second best all day” and Evatt’s “outfought all over the pitch” give the impression it’s a perpetual competition for 50 - 50 balls but that is deceptive and just plain wrong. A good pass to a team mate should give his marker no chance. The problem is we didn’t pass to each other - we passed into areas which gave them a chance of getting the ball. Rotherham didn’t - they made their man favourite far more often than us. And their forwards had the ability to outrun/get behind our back 2 (?) because we committed too many men men forward to support our ponderous attacks whereas they maintained a disciplined defensive line and attacked more effectively despite using less men. our players are overhyped and to play Evatt’s way they would need to be a lot better, a lot quicker, and a lot smarter. Cant waste the ball that often and expect any result other than a loss. We made it easy for them. Quote

Popular Post DaveTheRave Posted January 12, 2025 Popular Post Posted January 12, 2025 So we have a group of mentally weak and mentally fragile players according to the manager. Evatt is exactly those things himself. So many examples of this in his life away from football and also examples in his management. At the start of the season he kept mentioning that there was a black cloud over the club. There is and it's called Evatt. Quote

He just ran next to their player, mostly with about a 4 yard gap. Never once did he put pressure on him, he never tried to tackle him, even when he got his shot off he was nowhere near him to block it - it was like he was just shadowing him in some kind of weird non-contact training routine. It's definitely unbalanced and lacking physicality. But a new manager would hopefully not do something as stupid as deciding Rotherham are dominating so let's go to 1 midfielder and 4 forwards at 60mins. Quote
